Agency host/owner registration

TLN agency hosts/owners first need to create their agency account before members can join and earn 10% commission. See our step-by-step guide on setting up your account here.

Next step: invite your members to join your agency account

Upload a CSV file of your members to the “Invitations” section of your account. Inviting members through the file upload makes it easier for agents to join your account and you can even track their registration status and resend invitations.

Your agency host/owner has to first establish their primary account before you can create your account under your host/owner’s account.

Please check with your agency host to see if they’ve set up the agency account.

Your agency owner can invite you directly (you will receive an email with a signup link) or you can sign up on your own using your Host’s Viator Partner ID (e.g. P12345678) or the IATA, CLIA, CCRA, TRUE or ASTA number that your host used during their registration.

Using “share with client” links

Viator’s “share with client” links are flexible and simple to use. These links can be shared across communication channels, such as email or social media, allowing agents to earn commission on bookings made by clients. Share links at any point in your client’s journey. Once the client completes the booking, you can easily manage their reservations and earn commission on completed bookings made through your links.

Payout schedules

Commission is paid out the month following the completion of the booked activity. For example

  • You book a tour for your client in September 2021 for a date in October 2021
  • The traveler attends the tour in October 2021
  • Your commission for that tour will be disbursed to your agency in November 2021

Frequently asked questions

If you embed a "share with client" link, do you have to update it regularly

No, your “share with client” link never expires. For example, if you embed your unique link in your email signature, you will never need to update it. You can learn more about the bookable link here.

Can I use my "share with client" link on my agency's website?

Yes, you can embed your “share with client” link on your website. You can put your unique link anywhere you would put a link, such as in emails, on social media, etc.

Is there a maximum amount of widgets/bookable links I can place on websites or social media?

No, there are no maximums. You can create as many links and widgets as you need. 

How do I create a widget

You can easily create a widget in minutes directly in the “Tools” section of your account.

Are we able to mark up the tours?

No, you are unable to markup any tour prices. 

When is commission paid out?

Commission is paid out the month following the completion of the booked activity. For example

  • You book a tour for your client in September 2026 for a date in October 2026
  • The traveler attends the tour in October 2026
  • Your commission for that tour will be disbursed to your agency in November 2026. You host will then pay you out.
Can anyone from my office retrieve a confirmation? And can they see the client's info?

Agency admins with the “Admin” role in your agency account can see all bookings, booking reference numbers, client info, booking status, and commission amounts across your agency. However, travel advisors with just the “Agent” role will not be able to see other travel advisor’s booking or client information. 

How does Viator ensure the quality of their supply/tour operators?

Viator is a marketplace and we do not exclude any tour operator from signing up. However, in order for a tour operators products to go live on our site, tour operators must adhere to strict standards and meet minimum requirements.

Can I do a custom tour for clients? For example, if I have guests that want a private car pick from Venice cruise port to go to Rome.

Using the example, you can look for a private ground transfer between the two cities. In general, the level of customization will be dependent on the tour operator. Many tour operators offer different tour grades – there might be a basic version of the tour and there also might be a chance to upgrade to include food/drink, additional stops at attractions, or even custom pickup instructions. 

Do you offer tours for clients during a cruise?

Yes, we have many shore excursion options for your clients. Enter your client’s cruise line, ship, and sailing dates in the Shore Excursion search tool on our booking site to see all available excursion options.
