Despite the chilly temperatures and shorter days, winter can be one of the most beautiful times of the year to travel. The holiday season brings glittering illuminations, snow-dusted landmarks, and delicious seasonal foods. Here’s how you or your clients can jump right into the holiday spirit in Europe and the US.

Discover Munich’s many Christmas markets (Christkindlmarkts) on a guided walking tour, including the gigantic Marienplatz market, the Christmas Village at the Munich Residence, and the Medieval Market near Odeonsplatz. Along the way, marvel at the festive displays; tuck into seasonal treats such as lebkuchen (gingerbread cookies), Glühwein (mulled wine), and bratwurst sausages; or put your skating skills to the test at the city’s open-air ice rink.

This was a great way to see all of the Christkindl markets downtown. Highly recommend!!!

Held throughout December and into January, the Amsterdam Light Festival is one of Europe’s most impressive light festivals, with dozens of light art installations and dynamic light projections adorning Amsterdam’s landmark buildings, scenic canals, and historic squares. Set sail on a water colors cruise and admire the diverse displays from the water, or take in the festival highlights on a bike tour, stroll the Illuminade walkway.

I participated in the Amsterdam Light Festival Tour. It was simply amazing! The artworks are truly beautiful. The tourguide was very friendly and had a lot of knowlegde.

Whether admiring the dazzling window displays along Fifth Avenue (shop with a personal stylist in NY), ice skating in Central Park, or cheering on the Rockettes at the legendary Radio City Christmas Spectacular—if you’re spending the holidays in America, a trip to New York City is unmissable. This walking tour will get you in the holiday mood as you stroll around Manhattan, stopping to browse the Christmas markets, see the spectacular New Year’s lights displays, and relive scenes from your favorite Christmas movies set in NYC.

Great tour! Really got to see the magic of New York City during Christmas time. 10/10 Highly recommend.

With its snow-glazed landscapes, herds of wild reindeer, and majestic Northern Lights, Lapland is a real-life winter wonderland. For an unforgettable experience, ride a reindeer sleigh across the Arctic Circle, tour the official Santa Claus Village, and deliver your list in person with a visit to Santa Claus himself. Cap it off with a night at the Arctic Tree Hotel in Rovaniemi, where the cozy glass-fronted cabins look out over the snow-blanketed forest.

Lapland Reindeer and Husky Safari from Rovaniemi

Great experience! Guide was very good and knowledgeable. Comfortable car and great reception and activities during the visit to the farms, must do safari.

London landmarks such as Big Ben, the London Eye (your clients will love the champagne experience!), Tower Bridge, and Trafalgar Square get a festive makeover during the holiday season, adorned with elaborate decorations and shimmering with thousands of holiday lights. Hop in a traditional black cab for a private tour of the city and admire the show-stopping illuminations along Oxford Street; the famous window displays of Knightsbridge and Kensington; and the elegant light displays of Mayfair, Chelsea, and Belgravia. At the end of the tour, you’ll be dropped off at the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, where activities include an open-air ice rink, amusement rides, a Christmas market, and a Santa’s grotto.

I loved this tour. My guide was amazing, took me all over London and parked in great places so we could hop out and take photos. It was very enjoyable and so festive. I highly recommend this tour.

With dramatic light displays along the Champs-Elysees, the Champ de Mars, and the Seine Riverfront, it’s hard to beat France’s City of Light in winter. Celebrate by taking part in a holiday-themed cooking class with a Michelin-level chef and indulge in seasonal delights such as turkey, traditional pumpkin soup, and decadent Bûche de Noël (chocolate log cake).

I would recommend Dominique and his cooking skills to everyone!! It was like cooking with an old friend who happened to have amazing skills and knowledge about food, cooking and Paris that was happily passed on. It is a must do when traveling to Paris, it connects you to the food and culture in a way that you can’t imagine!!
