What are Shore Excursions?
A Shore Excursion is an activity or experience that can be done while a cruise ship is docked at a port. They’re designed to let cruise-goers who only have a limited time in each port an opportunity to see local sights, get to know the culture and make the time at each port more special. Viator now has a way to search these activities by first entering in your cruise information and using that to find activities at each port.
How can I book shore excursions?
Shore excursions are currently available to book directly through Shore Excursion Search on travelagents.viator.com, or through Share with Client links.
Can I find shore excursions associated with my client’s cruise line?
Yes! Head over to travelagents.viator.com, and switch to the Shore Excursions tab to search by Cruise Line, Cruise Ship, and Sail Date.
Will the shore excursions I see work with my client’s ship schedule?
The shore excursions displayed are filtered by availability by the date at the port. The filter currently does not take into account the time at port, so please refer to the timings listed at each port and allow plenty of time for your passengers to disembark, complete the activity and reboard the ship on time.
Will the shore excursions I see get my client back to the ship on time?
The shore excursions displayed are filtered by availability by the date at the port. The filter currently does not take into account the time at port, so please refer to the timings listed at each port and allow plenty of time for your passengers to disembark, complete the activity and reboard the ship on time. For added support in returning to the ship, please book an excursion that is covered under the Worry-free shore excursion policy.
Do Viator shore excursions offer port pickup?
Yes! The majority of the shore excursions offer port pickup. Please select the port as your pick-up point on the product page.
Are all shore excursions considered worry-free shore excursions?
Only some of the products are considered worry-free shore excursions, you can choose to filter by them under the Specials filter. Learn more about WFSE here.
Will Viator notify me if there is a change to the cruise itinerary?
Viator will not notify you if there is a change to the cruise itinerary. However, it does auto-update, so if the cruise changes, you will be able to see excursions matching the new port dates and timings.
Why can’t I find my cruise itinerary here?
Viator does a daily refresh of cruise itineraries to ensure we have the most up to date cruise data. If you do not see your cruise listed here, please submit a ticket to Partner Support here.
Why does the Viator Destination page not match with the cruise port location?
We try to show the most appropriate destination page for the port location. Sometimes, as is famously true for Rome, this may involve an additional journey. If you think that we aren’t showing the best experiences for a port, we’d love to know; please get in touch with Partner Support here.
How can I search for shore excursions at a port if I do not have a specific cruise in mind?
If you would like to search for shore excursions but do not have a cruise booked, please use the All Experiences tab, and filter by Worry-free Shore Excursion or Shore Excursion.
