Frequently Asked Questions
What is the commission rate for travel agents on bookings made via the widget?
The commission rate on bookings made from the widget is the same commission rate you earn on bookings made yourself or by your client using the Bookable Link.
Can I create more than one widget?
Yes you can! You can create as many widgets as you need.
Am I able to upload my own logo?
Publishing Viator’s widget on your website will allow tours and attractions to be showcased under your logo. When the client is ready to book, they will be redirected to Viator for payment processing.
Am I able to mix a destination link with specific tours under the "Specific Tours" category?
Our ‘Destination or category,’ and ‘Specific Tours’ options are for different types of links. The ‘Specific Tours’ option is only to specify particular product links on the Viator Travel Agent Program site. When destination, category or product links are mixed under the “Specific Tours” option, Viator’s Widget Builder will not populate a preview, nor will the widget publish on your site.
When I preview my widget code, it is showing up, but when I publish the code, only a link shows.
We recommend contacting your site editor’s IT team for assistace. Want us to have a look at your widget’s code? Feel free to email it over to partnersupport@viator.com and we’ll be more than willing to lend a second pair of eyes!
Do I need to know how to code to use the widget?
Nope! You will need to access the HTML of your website in order to place the widget on your page, but all you’ll need to do is copy/paste the code we create for you.
Can I put a widget on my Facebook page?
No. Your widget can only go on a website in which you have access to the HTML code.
How do I know that I have access to editing HTML from my host's site?
We recommend contacting your site editor’s IT team for assistace, or inquire with your host agency for help editing HTML code on your site. Have questions on just Viator’s widget code? Feel free to email it over to partnersupport@viator.com, and we’ll be more than happy to help!
Why isn't my numerical ID working on the widget builder?
For your security, only the new alphanumeric account IDs are recognized by Viator’s widget builder.
How will I know I received credit for a booking?
Under the “Bookings and Commission” tab when you’ve logged in, you’ll be able to see the reservations confirmed through the widget. These bookings will be labeled as “indirect.”
