As travel begins to return, we’ve been hard at work to find ways to improve your booking experience on Viator by anticipating your clients’ needs. We’ve created 4 new search filters to help you narrow down your selections and find experiences that your clients will feel comfortable and safe while enjoying. You’ll find the filters on the left-hand side of the destination screen under “Popular.” Select one of the four filters or a few at the same time to find that perfect experience for your client.
1. Good for avoiding crowds
No matter if it’s the grocery store or the Guggenheim Museum, everyone today wants to avoid large crowds of people. We feel the same way, which is why we’ve asked our experience operators to reduce the maximum size of their tour groups or switch their focus to offering private tours instead. This filter allows you and your clients to book comfortably, knowing that they’ll have limited interaction with anyone outside of their travel group.
Reminder: You can always check the maximum number of travelers on any experience by selecting your client’s travel dates and clicking “Number of travelers” on the right-hand side of the product page. Please note that due to COVID-19, we have temporarily ceased offering large group tour requests at this time. We hope to resume them again soon but in the meantime, we hope that your clients enjoy the small group experiences
2. Taking safety measures
A few weeks ago we announced a new search filter to highlight experiences that are taking increased health and safety measures during COVID-19. We’ve provided tour operators with an easy-to-use checklist to include specific information about the tour’s safety measures, including details about face masks, areas marked for social-distancing, sanitation procedures, and much more.
3. Virtual experiences
You don’t have to leave your home to have a story-worthy trip. We know that not everyone feels comfortable or has the means to travel right now, but that doesn’t mean they have to miss out on new experiences! Your clients can experience new cultures right from the comfort of their own homes with our global virtual tours. We’ve got everything from cooking classes in Italy to walking tours of Berlin, and everything in between.
You and your clients can filter for virtual experiences by specific location or see the full list here. Our virtual tours page allows you to further filter down these online experiences by specific interests like food and drinks, sightseeing, nature and wildlife, and many more. Our travel experts have even put together some guides to making the most of the time spent inside, like which Broadway shows you can stream today and cocktail recipes from New Orleans bartenders. As a bonus, we also share some 360˚ videos where your clients can experience off-roading through Sedona or spend time with African penguins from their couch!
4. Kid friendly
While safety remains at the top of every traveler’s mind when booking their vacation, we know it’s certainly not the only thing. We’ve heard from you that your clients are looking for kid friendly experiences most often, so we’ve moved the filter here to the top of the left-hand search bar for easier access. Search for kid friendly tours by location or further filter down by type of activity to find the right experience for your clients.
