Viator travel agents are now able to reserve products for their clients with no commitment and no payment upfront, allowing for the flexibility that their clients need and want while allowing clients to save a spot on in-demand tours & activities.

Search for products on travelagents.viator.com and look for the “Reserve Now & Pay Later” badge to find experiences that are eligible to be booked without upfront payment.

Reporting on bookings made via Reserve Now & Pay Later

In the “Reports” tab of your account, any booking with the payment status “Reserved” has been made using Reserve Now & Pay Later. The “Reserved” status indicates that the payment has not yet been made for the booking. That status changes to “Paid” when the payment has been made, either manually or with auto-pay. After payment has been made, the exact commission amount you will earn for the booking will be displayed next to the booking in the “Commission” column.

How do I manage Reserve Now & Pay Later bookings?

You are able to manage Reserve Now & Pay Later bookings just as you would any other Direct booking you make for your clients, but with additional options!

In the “Manage Bookings” tab of your account, any booking with the payment status “Reserved” has been made using Reserve Now & Pay Later. These bookings will display the date that the payment will be auto-charged on in order to be confirmed and will show “Pending” commission until the booking is confirmed.

Auto-pay

We take care of the payment for you. We’ll ask for credit card details at the time of booking and will automatically charge the card on file 2 days before the start of the experience. Don’t worry- we will send you a reminder email 3 days before the scheduled payment date to notify you that the card on file will be charged in the event that you need to make any changes to the payment method.

Manual payments

At any time before the “payment due by” date that’s shown for each booking, you’re able to manually submit payment before the card on file will be charged automatically. Simply click on the three small dots to the right of the booking you’d like to manually submit payment for and click “Manage” to pay.

Changing payment methods

You’re able to change the payment method for a Reserve Now & Pay Later booking by clicking on the 3 small dots to the right of the booking you’d like to amend. Select “Manage” to update the card on file. If your payment method fails or your credit card on file is declined, the booking reservation will be canceled and the booking will need to be made again. You will receive an email to notify you if this happens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Reserve Now & Pay Later available for all products on your website?

Reserve Now & Pay Later allows you to make a confirmed reservation for most of our 300,000+ tours and activities with no upfront payment. Experiences that are eligible for Reserve Now Pay Later will show the blue Reserve Now & Pay Later badge above the product name and again below the Check Availability button.

When is the final payment due?

Full payment can be made at any time after the booking is confirmed or auto-pay will kick in for easy payment. A final payment reminder will be sent five (5) days prior to your client’s travel date and full payment will be due 2-9* days prior to the travel date (*The payment date is dependent upon the booking/product selected.).

Can I use Reserve Now & Pay Later with my Share with Client link?

Reserve Now & Pay Later is currently only available for direct bookings but will be available soon for indirect bookings made with your Share with Client link.

Will I be reminded to pay for a Reserve Now & Pay Later booking?

Yes, we will send you a reminder email 3 days before your scheduled payment date. Up until the auto-charge date, you’re able to change the payment method in your account. If your payment method fails or your credit card on file is declined, the booking reservation will be cancelled and you will need to re-book.
