Earn commission on group bookings

If your group exceeds the maximum allowed for a product on the site, the booking needs to be requested through Viator’s Groups Department. As a Viator agent you will earn the same commission rates as you would on a standard booking, and commission is paid out in the same manner and schedule. There is no additional cost to you to work with our groups department for bookings. This new web form is specifically for travel agents and advisors to be able to request group bookings and get top priority in the groups department. 

Requesting a group booking via our web form

Step 1:  Log in to your account at

Step 2: Search for the product that you want to book and be sure to keep the page open – you’ll need the URL of the product in order to complete your group booking request.

Step 3:  A link to the Group Services web form can be found when you click on “Number of travelers” – that will open up a drop down from which you will then click on “Booking for a large group?” That will bring you to the Group Services web form. 

Step 4: Complete the form. Be sure to:

a. Enter your registered email address in order for commission to be attributed to you

b. Add the product page URL from step 1 in the Desired experience field at the end of the form.

The group booking option is also located in the footer of any of the Travel Agent Platform pages.

What happens next?

1. Our team will reach out to the supplier and will await their response to whether they can accommodate your request. Please allow up to 3 business days for first response as each group booking is unique. 

2. Within 4 hours of your initial request, our team will reach out to you or your client stating that we have reached out to the supplier. 

3. Once we receive a response from the supplier, we will send out a quote to your or your client. Once you or your client receive a quote, there are two options:

a. Reply to the email with a phone number and time when a groups agent can call them to book.

b. [Recommended] Call the Groups Services team at 702-939-9843 to confirm the booking.

4. Once the booking is made, the Group Services team will get a hold of the supplier to let them know it has been booked.

5. You or your client will then receive the tickets/vouchers

Product restrictions

The following products CANNOT accommodate group bookings:
  • Shows (seating is not guaranteed to be together)
  • Alcatraz tours
  • Hop-On Hop-Off – passengers not guaranteed to be together and cannot accommodate private tours
  • Transfers
  • International Spy Museum (10 or more passengers must go directly to the supplier)
The following products have LIMITED accommodations for group bookings:
  • Duck tours – passengers not guaranteed to be together unless a private tour is booked at a higher rate
  • Helicopter tours – groups will need to be split into different times for public and private tours

What is the cancellation policy for group bookings?

Cancellation policies do not apply to group bookings as all sales are final.

How do I tell if my group has exceeded the supplier’s limit?

You can find the maximum group size when you select “Number of travelers” on the product page

Can I submit multiple group booking requests at one time?
    • Yes you may! If the travel date if quickly approaching or if the tour is likely to sell you, we recommend having an alternative in case the first supplier is unable to handle your group booking request. Your client will only be charged/you will only earn commission on the quote you accept.
